Vacation on the Ostalb

Vacation on the Ostalb

The Ostalb holiday region surrounding our farmstead offers many opportunities for fun, leisure and outdoor sports. Our mountains have excellent routes that are popular with hikers and mountain bikers. You can also learn gliding or paragliding here. In winter, cross-country trails lead directly past our premises. There are three small ski resorts nearby and even a husky sled tour can be started right there.

"Our region is known for ingenuity, sustainable agriculture and as a place for bon vivants."

Natural attractions such as the sea of rocks, the origin of the river Rems, the meteorite crater at the Steinheimer Becken or the Brenztopf are just around the corner. All can be reached as a day trip by ebike. Aalen is located in the immediate vicinity, and its city center is ideal for a stroll. You can visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Limes or enjoy a day of wellness in the Limes Thermal Baths. In Heidenheim, there is the Hellenstein Castle with a seasonal opera festival. The Steiff Museum is located right next to it. The old Staufer town of Schwäbisch Gmünd, still a silver and gold town today, is also a very popular destination.

Our region is known for ingenuity, sustainable agriculture and as a place for bon vivants. As 100% organic gastronomy, we are closely connected with the producers in this region and would be happy to curate authentic foodie tours for you. For example, the largest orchard meadow in Europe is located along the Albtrauf, where you will find outstanding products such as cider, distillates, cuvées and much more. We also have recommendations for visiting local markets, cheese factories, artisan bakers, winemakers and breweries.

Our region also has a lot to offer in the field of natural cosmetics: Weleda, Speick and Hauschka open their doors to visitors and provide insight into medicinal plants, gardens and manufacturing.

"In short, we are the ideal place to relax in nature or to go hiking, whether with family or friends.

If you are drawn to the city, you can reach Stuttgart, Ulm and Biberach on the historic trail of the Swabian Railway in under an hour. Small enchanting cities like Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Dinkelsbühl can be found along the Romantic Road. Classic tourist destinations such as Lake Constance, the Black Forest, Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle and Legoland in Günzburg are ideal destinations for day trips."
